In at number 5 is what many people consider to be the number 1 football manager game. It is definitely worthy its place in the top 5 but it does have its flaws.
the basic screen structure is a whole array of menus and stats and most things that you associate with manager games. Instead of viewing the game you see phrases on the screen, similar to the following
"Ginola Shoots but Seaman saves"
This is the most realistic manager game out at the moment, and everything about being a football manager has been included in the game: Pressure from the chairman, Transfers, Money problems, Stadium attendance's, Injuries and Squad selections are just a few of them.
Championship Manager 2 is a great and very realistic manager game, but it is a long term game, and don't expect to get through it in a week. I would recommend this game to any wannabe managers out there, and patient people who love there football.
Another manager game at number 4, Ultimate soccer manager is a manager game with the emphasis on fun more than realism. This game scores higher than Championship Manager from the beginning, because of two points: You can have all the leagues in the game running at once and you can actually watch the games.
USM '98 has the most realistic transfer system in any manager game, and a stat system which is both detailed and user friendly.
The game is an accurate simulation and is quicker than Championship Manager in such areas as short loading times and not having to slowly progress through every day of the season. USM '98 lets you plan training sessions, friendlies, and includes all of the major club and European competitions.
I reccomend theis game to fans of the managing genre who prefer fun to detail.
